How We Pick
Luxeluma curates premium beauty devices, tools, and products. Here is exactly how we do it — and just as importantly, what we don’t do.
What we do
1. Verify specs from the brand first. Every key spec we print — LED wavelengths, motor wattage, heat settings, treatment times, fragrance sizes and notes — is taken from the manufacturer’s own published page. A retailer listing is our fallback source, never a third-party review site, never an Amazon spec table. 2. Verify real prices, show them exactly. Every product on this site carries the exact price we verified at a real retailer, with the retailer named. We re-check prices regularly and refresh them when the market moves. 3. Exclude the wrong fits. We leave out: models under an active CPSC or FDA recall, region-locked variants priced in non-USD currencies, and commercial or pro-salon-only units that don’t belong in a home ranking. 4. Frame everything as research, not review. We are not a lab and we don’t run hands-on tests. Our picks are based on verified published specifications plus verified prices.
What we never do
- Never estimate. If a spec or price isn’t published on a page we can verify, the row says “Not priced yet” or the spec is left blank. A blank cell is always more honest than a guess.
- Never currency-convert. Prices appear exactly as published by the retailer, in USD where the retailer is US-based. Non-USD variants are excluded rather than converted.
- Never claim hands-on testing. You will never read “we tried this for two weeks” on Luxeluma, because we didn’t. Our value is verification: exact model numbers, brand-published specs, and prices verified at real retailers.
A note on device efficacy claims
Devices like LED light-therapy masks and microcurrent tools make promises about what they do — firmer-looking skin, brighter tone, and so on. Those are the brand’s published claims, not ours. We report what the brand states, attributed as such (“the brand states…”), and we do not repeat medical or therapeutic efficacy claims as facts. For any skin or health concern, talk to a dermatologist.
How we rank picks in guides
Our guides use five pick slots per topic (Best overall, Best for X, etc.). Ranking is driven by: verified spec depth, breadth of brand-published detail, feature set for the use case, and price context. Commission rates never influence placement — see our Affiliate Disclosure.
